In March 2019 Charlie was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. The cancer had spread so quickly, and to other parts of his body, that his diagnosis was terminal. Charlie passed away peacefully with his family at his side less than 2 weeks later.
Throughout his career, Charlie always considered charities to be important. He would often lend his support in many ways, including donating his time by performing for various charitable causes, including research for pancreatic cancer and liver disease. After his demise, a memorial fund has been created in his name.
